LuLu Group said its Chairman Yusuffali MA met Narendra Modi on Thursday to discuss ongoing efforts to maintain food supply continuity to GCC countries amid the ongoing West Asia conflict.

The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in New Delhi, focused on ensuring the steady availability of essential food items across the Gulf region, which has a large Indian diaspora and strong demand for Indian-origin food products.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of maintaining supply chain stability and price control during current global disruptions. Yusuffali briefed the Prime Minister on LuLu Group’s recent initiatives aimed at strengthening food security across GCC markets.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged the significance of these efforts and assured full support from the Government of India to facilitate smooth exports of food products to Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

The company revealed that it has already facilitated the movement of around 15,000 tonnes of food products—both perishable and non-perishable—through a mix of chartered flights, cargo vessels, and regular shipping services from multiple locations across India.

So far, 34 dedicated chartered flights have been deployed, with more planned in the coming days to meet sustained demand.

These operations are backed by LuLu Group’s integrated sourcing and export infrastructure across various Indian states, where production and logistics hubs are operating at increased capacity to support international supply requirements.

With over 280 hypermarkets across the GCC region, LuLu Group plays a key role in food distribution. India continues to remain a critical supplier of food products to the region, catering to both expatriate and local populations.

The initiative is also supporting India’s agriculture sector by enabling farmers, producers, and exporters to maintain steady access to global markets during a challenging period.

During the meeting, Yusuffali also outlined plans to continue scaling supply operations in the coming weeks, with additional chartered flights and cargo shipments scheduled to ensure uninterrupted supply to GCC countries.
