New Delhi, March 16: India Post is preparing to revolutionize the express logistics landscape with the introduction of its innovative '24 Speed Post' service, which promises guaranteed next-day delivery for time-sensitive parcels, consignments, and articles across major metropolitan areas.
The groundbreaking service will officially commence operations on March 17, following its launch by Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia alongside Minister of State Dr Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani at Akashvani Bhawan in the national capital.
In its initial phase, the 24 Speed Post service will be accessible in six major metropolitan cities—Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The service framework encompasses both D+1 (next-day) and D+2 (two-day) assured delivery options, supported by a comprehensive infrastructure that includes dedicated processing windows, priority air transmission capabilities, OTP-secured delivery mechanisms, and complete end-to-end tracking accompanied by SMS alerts for customers.
Business clientele stand to gain substantially from this new offering, with features specifically designed to streamline commercial operations. These include Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment flexibility, complimentary bulk pickup services, seamless API integration for existing business systems, and centralised billing solutions. To further reinforce service reliability and customer confidence, India Post has instituted a money-back guarantee, significantly strengthening its position in the premium express logistics segment.
These strategic initiatives form an integral component of the broader modernization efforts being undertaken under the Advanced Postal Technology (APT) 2.0 project. This ambitious program aims to comprehensively modernise parcel processing infrastructure, establish standardised systems across the nation, and deliver enhanced speed, reliability, and overall customer experience throughout India's postal network.
