Hindustan Zinc expands green logistics partnership with Green Line Mobility. Hindustan Zinc Limited has initiated one of India’s largest green logistics transitions through a strategic partnership with GreenLine Mobility Solution Ltd. The move is a significant step in HZL’s mission to fully decarbonize its supply chain, incorporating advanced Electric Vehicle and Liquefied Natural Gas trucks. In an official statement, HZL announced that the expansion supports the company’s goal of achieving Net Zero emissions, with EVs and LNG trucks now playing a central role in its logistics operations.
As part of the partnership, GreenLine Mobility will invest Rs. 400 Cr to deploy 100 electrics trucks, replacing diesel-powered vehicles for transporting concentrate between HZL’s mines and smelters. The initiatives also include the setup of India’s first commercial scale battery swapping infrastructure, featuring three high-capacity stations to enable 24/7 operations. Additionally, HZL’s LNG fleet will be expanded with 100 new LNG trucks, doubling its size to 200 to support long haul transport of finishes goods. Arun Mishra, CEO of Hindustan Zinc, commented, “We are steadfast in our commitment to sustainable manufacturing. This large-scale deployment of EVs and LNG trucks is a bold step in our journey towards net zero and reflects our dedication to innovation and environmental stewardship.”
