Hyderabad-headquartered Garudavega, operating under the NexGen Logistics Pvt. Ltd. umbrella, has acquired YourDesiCart, a cross-border shopping platform designed to help NRIs and international buyers access Indian goods from anywhere in the world. The strategic acquisition marks a significant step in Garudavega's ambition to move beyond conventional logistics and build a fully integrated international commerce experience.
YourDesiCart's platform allows non-resident Indians and global consumers to browse and purchase items from both online and offline Indian retailers, consolidating their orders through dedicated locker addresses in India before having them shipped internationally. This model has proven effective in reducing overall shipping costs and simplifying what is traditionally a complex cross-border fulfillment process.
Since its founding in 2020, YourDesiCart has grown a loyal customer base of over 90,000 users and currently facilitates deliveries to more than 220 countries. The platform's parcel-forwarding and assisted shopping capabilities have made it a go-to solution for the Indian diaspora seeking reliable access to regional products unavailable in their countries of residence.
With the acquisition now complete, YourDesiCart will continue to operate — but as a Garudavega-powered service. The integration is expected to bring meaningful improvements across delivery timelines, operational efficiency, and cost structures for cross-border shoppers.
Garudavega's established global partnerships and logistics infrastructure will provide the backbone for scaling YourDesiCart's capabilities to a significantly larger audience.
Satish Lakkaraju, CEO of NexGen Logistics, highlighted the strategic rationale behind the deal. "YourDesiCart has built a highly relevant solution for customers seeking seamless access to Indian products globally. This acquisition allows us to move beyond logistics and deliver a more integrated cross-border commerce experience," he said.
Satya Ayyagari, Founder of YourDesiCart, expressed confidence in the partnership's ability to accelerate the platform's growth trajectory. "Our mission has always been to simplify global access to Indian products. With Garudavega's scale and logistics strength, we can accelerate growth and deliver an even smoother India-to-world shopping experience," Ayyagari noted.
Looking ahead, YourDesiCart — currently based in Hyderabad — is set to expand its physical presence across multiple Indian cities as part of the post-merger integration roadmap. This expansion is expected to bring more Indian sellers into the global commerce ecosystem, giving them streamlined access to international markets that would otherwise require significant infrastructure investment to reach independently.
The deal is also a reflection of a wider industry shift in the logistics sector. Companies across the globe are increasingly moving up the value chain, transitioning from pure-play transportation providers to end-to-end cross-border commerce enablers. Garudavega's acquisition of YourDesiCart places the company squarely within that evolving landscape, positioning it to capture growing demand from the Indian diaspora and international consumers who want reliable, affordable access to India's diverse retail market.
