With a legacy spanning 158 years, Balmer Lawrie has consistently demonstrated resilience adaptability and strategic foresight. As a diversified Indian conglomerate, the company has emerged as a key player in integrated logistics, shaping its growth trajectory by aligning with national development goals and leveraging cutting- edge technologies.

Logistics continues to be a core growth engine for Balmer Lawrie. The company offers end-to-end logistics solutions, including international freight forwarding, Container Freight Stations (CFS), temperature-controlled warehousing, and a fleet of reefer vehicles. By expanding its freight forwarding and CFS operations through capacity building and digital innovation, Balmer Lawrie is well-positioned in the evolving logistics landscape.

Its strength in global freight forwarding is supported by a robust international agency network that ensures smooth cargo movement for exporters and importers. In the CFS segment, infrastructure upgrades are enhancing handling capacity, customs clearance, and integrated offerings such as bonded warehousing, reefer management, and last-mile delivery.

In FY 2024–25, Balmer Lawrie reported a revenue of β‚Ή2,578 crore and a profit after tax of β‚Ή233 crore, reflecting 7.2% revenue growth and a 14.4% rise in profitability. The company’s most profitable verticals were Logistics, Travel, and Greases & Lubricants. Travel and Industrial Packaging hit record volumes, while Chemicals, Vacations, and Logistics Services also posted strong growth.

Despite global headwinds including geopolitical tensions, inflation, and supply chain disruptions Balmer Lawrie maintained its momentum, driven by a customer-centric approach, cost optimization, product diversification, strategic capacity utilization, and investment in talent and infrastructure.

A significant development has been Balmer Lawrie’s entry into rail logistics through a strategic partnership with GATX India. This collaboration enables the company to integrate rail into its logistics offerings, reducing turnaround times and providing cost-effective, sustainable transport options. This move supports India's green logistics agenda.
