Embraer has reaffirmed its long-term commitment to India’s aerospace ecosystem, wrapping up another senior-level visit as the aircraft manufacturer continues to scale up and consolidate its supply chain footprint across the country.

The visit is part of Embraer’s wider plan to strengthen industrial collaboration between Brazil and India, while exploring fresh opportunities across its defence, commercial and business aviation businesses. According to the company, India is fast becoming a vital partner within its global supply network and future growth strategy.

Roberto Chaves, Embraer’s executive vice president for global procurement and supply chain, said the company remains focused on advancing collaborative initiatives with India’s aerospace sector, particularly across defence and civil aviation programs. He noted that Embraer is committed to fostering technological innovation, operational efficiency and long-term partnerships that create value for both Indian industry and global platforms.

The visit builds on Embraer’s long-standing presence in India and follows continued engagement with domestic industry players and government representatives. During the visit, the company evaluated a wide range of potential supplier capabilities, including aerostructures assembly, machining, metal forming, composites, wiring systems, as well as hardware and software development.

Embraer sees India as a strategic partner within the Asia-Pacific region, with plans already underway to roll out a comprehensive local supply chain program. This initiative has been reinforced by the recent opening of Embraer’s India office in New Delhi and the formation of a dedicated local procurement team to accelerate supplier development and industry collaboration.

India also remains an important market for Embraer across all its business segments. More than 44 Embraer aircraft are currently operating in the country, supporting commercial aviation, executive travel and defence and security operations. These include Embraer VIP jets used by the Indian government and EMB 145 AEW “Netra” platforms operated by the Indian Air Force.

For the wider Asia-Pacific aerospace and defence sector, Embraer’s growing presence in India underlines the country’s rising importance both as a key market and as a critical contributor to global aerospace supply chains.
