Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Qaiwain and Chairman of the Executive Council, unveiled the establishment of a new Logistics City and Umm Al Qaiwain Cargo Airport during a council meeting today. This ambitious move is part of the emirate’s broader strategy to achieve its Vision 2033, positioning Umm Al Qaiwain as a leading global logistics hub.
The announcement was made during the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2024 in Abu Dhabi.
Logistics City will serve as a state-of-the-art, integrated zone designed to support and enhance transportation and trade activities. Featuring modern infrastructure, the city will include advanced warehouses and cutting-edge systems for transportation and shipping, designed to streamline logistics operations and foster connectivity between various transport modes. This development is expected to attract global investments and businesses, boosting the local economy and driving growth in key sectors.
The Umm Al Qaiwain Cargo Airport project, located strategically within the emirate, is set to revolutionize air freight operations. It will be equipped to efficiently process air cargo shipments, providing advanced solutions to the shipping sector. This project will create new job opportunities for local youth, while also supporting the government's efforts to secure a prosperous future for the emirate.
These initiatives are closely aligned with Vision 2033, which aims to bolster Umm Al Qaiwain's economic standing, improve infrastructure efficiency, and attract foreign investment.
