Transworld Group has operated a dedicated air charter service between India and the United Arab Emirates to transport food and essential commodities, ensuring supply chain continuity amid disruptions in the Gulf region.

The company confirmed that a Sharjah–Mumbai–Sharjah charter flight was successfully completed on March 24, 2026, maintaining cargo movement during a period of geopolitical uncertainty affecting trade corridors and logistics networks.

With conventional freight routes facing operational risks, Transworld activated its air charter capabilities to sustain the flow of critical goods between the two nations, which share strong economic and trade ties. The operation ensured timely delivery of food products and essential commodities, which remain vital for supply stability.

Transworld stated that the initiative highlights its role in supporting supply chain resilience and food security across the India–UAE corridor, especially when traditional logistics channels face constraints.

Ramesh S. Ramakrishnan, Chairman of Transworld, said that agility and swift decision-making are essential during disruptions, adding that the air charter operation demonstrates the company’s commitment to maintaining seamless movement of essential goods while strengthening bilateral trade relations.

Ritesh S. Ramakrishnan, Managing Director, emphasised the importance of speed, reliability, and execution excellence in today’s dynamic logistics environment, noting that the company will continue investing in flexible and scalable logistics solutions.

The India–UAE corridor remains one of the most active trade routes, supported by long-standing economic cooperation and a large Indian diaspora in the UAE. Transworld, which has been operating in the UAE for over four decades, continues to offer integrated shipping, logistics, and supply chain services across this route.

As part of its broader strategy, the company is expanding its time-sensitive logistics capabilities through increased investment in charter operations to provide alternatives when standard freight routes are disrupted.

In parallel with the air charter, Transworld also deployed its vessel SSL Godavari to facilitate cargo movement between India and the UAE, focusing on essential commodities.

Founded in 1977 and headquartered in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai, Transworld operates across shipping, aviation, and supply chain services, including warehousing, cold chain logistics, inland transport, freight forwarding, and project logistics.
