Founded in 1979, TaylorMade Golf is a renowned manufacturer of high-performance golf equipment, including clubs, balls, bags, apparel, and accessories. Headquartered in Carlsbad, California, the company operates a network of facilities across Indiana, South Carolina, California, and Tijuana, Mexico, to store, customize, and distribute products to the U.S. and Canadian markets through both wholesale and direct-to-consumer channels.

Recognizing the need to enhance its primary distribution center in Indiana, TaylorMade initiated internal projects to boost operations. However, the company acknowledged that the current capacity of the facility was insufficient to support its future growth projections. Like many in the distribution industry, TaylorMade also faced widespread labor challenges.

With several facility leases approaching expiration, TaylorMade saw an opportunity to reassess its distribution network. The company aimed to design a "future state" network to support North American fulfillment, align with its five-year strategic plan, and create an agile platform capable of accommodating a diverse range of product offerings while maintaining excellent customer service.

To achieve these objectives, TaylorMade sought to conduct a network optimization analysis, exploring various distribution models that differed in the number, location, size, and type of facilities. This analysis would evaluate the cost and service implications of different operating models, such as distribution by product category.

In its search for expert guidance, TaylorMade enlisted JLL’s Supply Chain Consulting group to evaluate and recommend the most efficient and effective future state network strategy. Additionally, JLL would support TaylorMade with real-estate-related execution services as needed.
