The National Maritime Heritage Complex Achieves 57% Completion in Phase 1A: Sonowal

Union Minister for Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has announced that 57% of Phase 1A of the National Maritime Heritage Complex (NMHC) at Lothal, Gujarat, has been completed. This milestone marks significant progress in the development of this ambitious Rs 4,500 crore project, which aims to create a world-class facility celebrating India’s maritime heritage from ancient to modern times. During a review meeting at the Mumbai Port Office, Sonowal emphasized that the NMHC is designed to be an international tourist destination, utilizing an "edutainment" approach with cutting-edge technology to engage visitors. The complex will showcase India’s rich maritime legacy through various exhibits, interactive displays, and educational programs.
