Andhra Pradesh government to establish logistics corporation for unified cargo services. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to set up a Logistics Corporation aimed at streamlining freight movement across ports, airports, roads, railways and inland waterways, not just within Andhra Pradesh, but also serving neighboring states.
During a high-level review meeting on industries and infrastructure held Monday, Mr. Naidu emphasized that the new corporation should act as a “growth engine” for the state’s economy. The Chief Minister announced plans to build 20 new ports and additional airports. Existing facilities will be upgraded into economic hubs surrounded by satellite townships; all interconnected through robust transport infrastructure. Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s strategic location as a key North-South transit corridor, Mr. Naidu stressed the importance of integrated road, rail and waterways connectivity.
