MSC has announced the commencement of its new weekly service, Osprey, connecting Asia and Southeast India. According to an official statement from MSC, the Osprey service will provide a direct route and expedite transit times between the Asian and Southeast Indian markets, creating new opportunities for importers and exporters in the area and enhancing connectivity between these significant trade hubs. Osprey is an addition to MSC's current inter-Asia service, Shikra, which allows MSC to offer its clients more extensive coverage of the Asia-India network. According to the statement, the inaugural sailing, with ship MSC SOMYA voyage number SO430A, will leave from Shanghai on July 23, 2024.

The service would rotate between Shanghai, Ningbo, Singapore, Colombo, Ennore, Visakhapatnam, and Shanghai MSC. According to the statement, Ningbo will connect to Ennore in 15 days, Visakhapatnam in 17 days, and Kolkata (via Visakhapatnam) in 19 days.
