JioMart, the e-marketplace division of Reliance Retail, has partnered with JASCOLAMPF, a state government emporium from Jharkhand, and JHARCRAFT, a government of Jharkhand initiative, to empower and facilitate the growth of small-scale sellers, including artisans and traditional weavers.

According to a statement from the company, this cooperative venture is a significant step toward changing the status quo for Jharkhandi craftsmen and facilitating their nationwide reach through JioMart.

Many craftsmen from Jharkhand's towns and cities, including Gumla, Saraikela, and Palamau, have joined the JioMart marketplace as a result of the partnership.

According to the statement, "These artisans can now take advantage of the platform's features, which allow them to reach customers across the nation and grow their businesses, in addition to the opportunity to showcase their handcrafted marvels."

The company went on to say that millions of JioMart customers will be able to find and buy GI-tagged products such as well-known wood products, bamboo products, Dhokra artifacts, terracotta items, lac bangles, cotton handloom sarees, men's shirts, unstitched dress materials, handcrafted bags, bed sheets, paintings, home décor items, and many other kinds of handmade human arts thanks to this collaboration.

"The artisans, handloom weavers, and craftspeople of Jharkhand possess remarkable skills passed down through generations, embodying the region's rich cultural legacy," stated Rakesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director, Jharkhand State Co-operative Lac Marketing & Procurement Federation (JASCOLAMPF). Working with them offers a deep dive into the dynamic crafts and enduring traditions of Jharkhand. Over time, this partnership will help not just the local weavers and artisans but also other MSME firms in Jharkhand. This synergy will spur development, creativity, and a greater understanding of the exquisite workmanship that characterizes Jharkhand's identity through shared knowledge and opportunity.

Jharkhand Silk Textile and Handicraft Development Corporation (JHARCRAFT) deputy general manager Ashwini Sahay stated, "We are thrilled to launch on an indigenous platform like JioMart that understands the unique needs of homegrown products." This launch, in our opinion, represents our dedication to bringing a variety of Jharkhandi art forms to the JioMart marketplace, helping artisans, and protecting India's rich cultural heritage.

Jio Mart has benefited more than 20,000 artists and weavers nationally since its founding in 2022.
