India and South Korea Collaborate to Strengthen Logistics Infrastructure Under PM GatiShakti Initiative

In a significant development aimed at enhancing logistics and infrastructure growth, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korea Transport Institute (KoTI) of South Korea. This collaboration, formalized on 10 February at the Sejong National Research Complex in South Korea, is set to play a crucial role in advancing India's logistics infrastructure under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

The MoU was signed by Youngchan Kim, President of KoTI, and Amit Kumar, India's Ambassador to South Korea, marking a new phase of bilateral cooperation in logistics development. This partnership is expected to leverage KoTI’s world-class expertise in transportation and logistics to support India's ambitious infrastructure growth plans.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, this collaboration will involve joint working meetings to ensure the effective implementation of infrastructure projects. It will also foster a comprehensive mechanism for knowledge sharing and institutional cooperation between DPIIT’s Logistics Division and KoTI.

The partnership is poised to play a key role in the PM GatiShakti initiative, which aims to build a technology-driven, seamless, and integrated multimodal transport network across India. The collaboration will focus on creating research-driven programmes that enhance logistics expertise, improve master planning, adopt cutting-edge technology, and foster smart logistics solutions.
