The chief of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, reminded that opportunity belongs to the one who looks for it. "I often tell my team that the future belongs to those who have the courage to look beyond the present and understand that today's limitations are yesterday's starting points for tomorrow," he said.

As reflecting upon his experiences, the following personal reflections were shared by Adani: "From leaving home to pursue my teenage dream as a diamond trader to believing that we could build the largest port in the country against expert advice to the contrary to establishing India's first private railway to connect Mundra Port, or achieving the biggest single-site thermal power generation capacity in the world, we gambled on every occasion. From building the largest coal import terminal to pioneering India's first private HVDC line, making the country's biggest investment in an OECD nation, becoming the operator of India's largest airport network, and even investing in a port in Israel while betting on the future of the India-Middle East corridor — each of these milestones pushed us well beyond our comfort zone and unveiled possibilities."

"Had we settled for the status quo, these opportunities would never have emerged," he claimed "to accept the status quo is to settle for a destiny wherein you stop questioning, stop dreaming, and stop exploring your own potential."

This was during his speech in Jaipur which marked the 51st Gem & Jewellery Awards. On November 30, Adani elaborated on the group's first-mover achievements across various sectors. "There Adani Group is where it is today because we do not fear challenging ourselves: we continually redefine our frontiers, refuse to accept limits, and are comfortable with that discomfort called change. Our journey would always have us scoring these milestones missed had we settled for status quo."
