Gateway container operations at the Vizhinjam Port in Kerala are set to begin in four months, as confirmed by the state’s Port Minister. The much-anticipated port is expected to significantly enhance India’s maritime trade capabilities, providing a major boost to the country’s logistics and container handling infrastructure.

Vizhinjam Port, located along the southwestern coast of India, will serve as a key gateway for global cargo, reducing congestion at other ports and enhancing connectivity for international trade. The port’s advanced infrastructure, including state-of-the-art container handling facilities, is designed to handle large container ships, making it a critical addition to India’s growing network of ports.

The minister emphasized that the launch of container operations at Vizhinjam would not only benefit the state of Kerala but also contribute to India’s broader goal of becoming a global shipping hub.
