Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will visit Telangana on 5 May to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for road infrastructure projects worth βΉ1,552.91 crore. This announcement was made by Union Minister and Telangana BJP President G Kishan Reddy during a press conference on 3 May.
Reddy highlighted the Modi government's commitment to infrastructure development, noting that Telangana’s national highway network has more than doubled over the past decade from 2,500 km to 5,200 km with a total investment of βΉ1.25 lakh crore, now connecting all 32 districts of the state.
The upcoming projects aim to further boost regional connectivity and economic integration across Telangana and neighbouring states. Key corridors include the Hyderabad–Mumbai and Nagpur routes, the Warangal–Bhupalapally stretch, the Vijayawada–Chennai highway, and the Kurnool–Bengaluru road.
A major highlight will be the inauguration of the 1.47 km Amberpet flyover in Hyderabad, constructed at a cost of βΉ330 crore. Additional completed works worth βΉ895 crore include the 10 km, 6-lane Aramgarh–Shamshabad stretch on NH-44, the BHEL Junction flyover, and multiple underpasses and service roads in Medak and Kamareddy—collectively spanning over 22 km.
Gadkari will also lay foundation stones for six new road projects totalling βΉ657.27 crore, covering 20.87 km. These include:
Junction development and convenience facilities on NH-65 in Tekumatla (10.69 km, βΉ422.12 crore)
A 6-lane underpass and service road in Dharmojigudem (1 km, βΉ37.68 crore)
A 1.26 km underpass at Balanagar on NH-44 (βΉ31.56 crore)
Underpasses at Ankushapur and Kondamadugu on NH-163 (2.77 km, βΉ56.19 crore)
A 6-lane flyover at Ghatkesar Junction (βΉ68.95 crore)
Underpasses at Komatpalli and Vellur Junctions on NH-44 (3.45 km, βΉ40.77 crore)
These projects are expected to significantly decongest traffic, enhance road safety, and improve travel efficiency across Telangana.
