Deendayal Port commissions India’s first 1 MW green hydrogen plant in Kandla

In a significant step toward accelerating nation’s clean energy transition, India commission 1 MW green hydrogen plant at kandla port. The Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla has commissioned the country’s first megawatt-scale green hydrogen plant, development under the Make-in-India initiatives. The 1 MW facility implemented by Larsen & Toubro, marks a landmark moment for India’s ambitions in renewable energy and maritime decarbonization. The plant inaugurated on July 31, 2025, is the first module of a larger planned 10 MW green hydrogen complex for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone during his visit to Bhuj on May 26, 2025.
