Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) has completed its first international container movement from ICD Dhandarikalan in Ludhiana to Jebel Ali, marking an important step in the company’s overseas logistics expansion. The shipment was moved using a CONCOR-owned 40-foot high-cube (HC) container, highlighting the organisation’s growing strength in delivering end-to-end, asset-backed logistics solutions beyond Indian shores.
This inaugural movement underlines CONCOR’s preparedness to support Indian exporters with smooth, integrated logistics services linking inland container depots to major global trade gateways. By deploying its own container equipment for the overseas leg, CONCOR is enhancing supply-chain control, boosting operational reliability, and improving service standards for customers involved in international trade.
ICD Dhandarikalan, a major logistics hub in northern India, plays a vital role in supporting Punjab’s manufacturing and export base, particularly textiles, engineering goods, and agri-based products. Direct connectivity from this ICD to Jebel Ali—among the world’s largest transshipment and trading hubs—creates fresh opportunities for quicker access to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The move is in line with CONCOR’s wider strategy to expand its global presence, broaden service offerings, and transition from a primarily domestic rail logistics operator into a fully integrated multimodal logistics player with international reach. This first movement is expected to set the stage for regular overseas container operations, strengthening India’s export ecosystem through efficient and seamless logistics.
