China is committed to taking concrete actions to maintain the stability and flow of global industrial and supply chains, Premier Li Qiang affirmed on Monday.
Li made these remarks during a symposium with representatives from various enterprises and organizations attending the upcoming second China International Supply Chain Expo. Among the attendees were representatives from Apple Inc., Rio Tinto, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Ltd., and the US-China Business Council, among others.
Corporate leaders expressed strong confidence in the Chinese economy and optimism about the vast potential of the Chinese market. They stated that foreign companies operating in China are eager to expand investments, deepen their presence in the country, and strengthen cooperation on global industrial and supply chains to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Li emphasized that economic globalization has led to the gradual expansion of global industrial and supply chains over the past few decades, driving rapid global economic growth and benefiting all involved parties. However, he noted that the current lack of momentum in global economic growth, combined with protectionist policies and excessive security measures, is damaging supply chains, increasing business costs, reducing economic efficiency, and hindering shared progress.
The Premier called for a firm commitment to safeguarding stable, unimpeded global industrial and supply chains, as well as the common interests of all stakeholders. He also highlighted that China has maintained steady economic growth and made further progress this year, with plans to enhance counter-cyclical measures to promote sustainable economic development.
China aims to accelerate the development of a modern industrial system and provide strong support for the efficient functioning of global supply chains. Li further emphasized the importance of integrating technological innovation with industrial development and increasing international cooperation in innovation.
He reaffirmed China’s commitment to high-standard openness, expanding market access, and inviting more foreign companies to engage in industrial cooperation in the country.
Li concluded by encouraging enterprises to continue supporting economic globalization, deepen international cooperation, and work together to enhance the dynamism, resilience, and efficiency of global industrial and supply chains.
