The Goa Chapter's main objective is to collaborate with the ACFI Head Office to achieve shared objectives and raise the bar for the air cargo industry so that it meets the standards of the best air cargo ecosystems worldwide.
Ahmad Raza Khan, a partner at Samuel Dias & Co., has been named by the association as the ACFI Goa Chapter Vice Chairman.
To develop the air cargo logistics sector in Goa and across the country, this project will prioritise promoting regulatory reforms with authorities, upskilling our industry colleagues, planning seminars and carefully selected events, and fostering partnerships with other trade associations. According to a statement from ACFI, the Goa Chapter's main objective is to collaborate with the ACFI Head Office to achieve shared objectives and advance the air cargo sector's standards to be on par with the top worldwide air cargo ecosystems.
It went on to say that Thakur Purushottam, who brings with him a wealth of expertise spanning two decades in the air cargo and aviation industries, is the ideal leader to lead the Goa Chapter to success.
"With his diverse sectoral knowledge in cargo handling, operations, business development, project management, documentation, and other areas, the entire ACFI Governing Board believes he will be an invaluable asset to the association," the organisation stated.
Through this partnership, our regional activities will be successfully carried out, with the full backing of our distinguished members and ACFI President. My goal is to establish a solid rapport between the Goa Chapter of ACFI and major participants in the air cargo and supply chain industries in Goa and the surrounding area. "I truly believe that developing a strategy roadmap for air cargo logistics is necessary to properly handle the complexities of supply chain management and distribution networks in this changing scenario, said Purushottam.
In an effort to increase air cargo traffic in the area, the ACFI Governing Board and ACFI Secretariat will choose the Goa Chapter Board members throughout the upcoming weeks.
"ACFI is dedicated to building a world-class air cargo ecosystem in India that adheres to the highest international standards," stated Yashpal Sharma, President of ACFI, in response to the development. Even in the most developed economies, I think India's air cargo system has the potential to become a global standard, respected for its size, effectiveness, and speed. In particular, our Goa Chapter will be essential to realising this goal. All things taken into account, Goa's founding as the ninth regional chapter of ACFI is a historic accomplishment that confirms the progress we are making towards the development of air cargo. It highlights our proactive approach to assisting the country's commerce and economic growth and illustrates our dedication to growing the air cargo logistics industry.
I am certain that this chapter, in conjunction with GOX International Airport, will provide significant value to shippers in the catchment area, paving the path for a more connected, efficient, and dynamic air cargo logistics landscape in India."
