Oman Air Cargo has announced plans to boost network capacity across key destinations in India, the United Kingdom, Europe and Asia in the days ahead, as the airline works to offset disruptions caused by regional airspace restrictions. The carrier has temporarily halted services to and from Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar and Dubai due to ongoing closures affecting the region's airspace.
To minimize the impact on customers, the airline will deploy additional belly hold capacity through newly scheduled flights. According to company officials, planners are actively reallocating aircraft and maximizing available freight space to keep cargo moving while necessary adjustments are implemented.
The carrier has cautioned that flights operating across other parts of its network may experience delays as a result of extended flight paths required to navigate the airspace restrictions. Operational teams are working around the clock to preserve flight schedules wherever possible. Cargo affected by the suspensions will be rescheduled as soon as more information becomes available regarding the duration of airspace limitations.
Oman Air Cargo is reaching out directly to customers to provide updates on the status of their shipments. The airline has prioritized time-sensitive cargo and is working closely with customers and ground handling partners to arrange alternative routing options where needed.
The safety and wellbeing of staff remains the carrier's top priority throughout this period. Company representatives confirmed they are maintaining close coordination with aviation authorities and airport partners to ensure all necessary safety protocols are being followed. Behind the scenes, operational teams are managing the complex logistics involved in rerouting shipments while making the most of the extra belly hold capacity being brought online.
The airline has emphasized its commitment to keeping customers and partners informed with regular updates as the situation develops. Operational control centers are continuously monitoring flight operations and adjusting cargo manifests in real time to account for changes in flight routing and transit times.
Meanwhile, DP World has confirmed that all terminals at its flagship port facility in Dubai continue to operate at full capacity, even as the company maintains heightened security protocols. The global logistics operator stated that port management teams are closely tracking developments to minimize any potential disruption to maritime trade flows in the region.
Industry analysts note that the coordinated response from carriers and logistics providers reflects a concerted effort to safeguard supply chains during this period of airspace constraints. Market observers say that while global logistics networks are facing significant challenges, they have proven resilient as companies activate contingency plans and reassess capacity distribution strategies.
