Germany-based logistics and freight forwarding firm Drewes Logistics has formally entered the Indian market after acquiring a majority stake in Logistics Plus India and setting up a local subsidiary. The newly formed entity, Drewes Logistics India, commenced operations on January 1, 2026, marking a strategic expansion into one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
As part of the integration process, seven offices located in New Delhi, Gurgaon, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune and Ahmedabad have been transitioned to the new subsidiary and fully aligned with Drewes Logistics’ global operating network. The move strengthens the company’s regional presence and enhances its ability to serve customers across key Indian commercial hubs.
Drewes Logistics India will offer a comprehensive range of services, including project logistics, ocean freight and airfreight, supporting customers with end-to-end logistics solutions tailored to complex international supply chains.
Commenting on the development, Patrick Drewes, Managing Director of Drewes Logistics, said the expansion reinforces the company’s capability to support clients seeking globally integrated logistics services. He highlighted that increasingly diversified supply chains, the need to manage geopolitical risks and the growth of bilateral trade initiatives are prompting many European companies to expand their footprint in South Asia, boosting demand for logistics providers that can combine global standards with strong local execution.
Sundreysh Sarup, formerly Managing Director of Logistics Plus India, has been appointed to head Drewes Logistics India. The subsidiary currently employs 52 people. Sarup said the combination of Drewes’ international capabilities and the team’s deep understanding of the Indian market positions the company to deliver greater value to its customers.
The India expansion follows Drewes Group’s recent leadership strengthening in Europe, with Marc Fischborn joining the company as branch manager in Antwerp, Belgium. Drewes Logistics has also indicated plans to further expand its presence in Southeast Asia as part of its broader global growth strategy.
