Working with the Government of Tanzania to Transform the Public Health Supply Chain and Pharmaceutical Management Systems

JSI is pleased to announce that we have been selected by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) to lead the USAID NextGen Ugavi Bora, Afya Bora (Better Supply, Better Health) Activity in Tanzania.

The 10-year Activity will further strengthen Tanzania’s supply chain and pharmaceutical management (SC&PM) systems to ensure sustainable access to and appropriate use of safe, effective, quality-assured, affordable health products.

Tanzania has made significant progress in ensuring health product availability and in advancing the maturity of SC&PM systems. Our close work with the Government of Tanzania has led to improvements in logistics management information systems, warehousing, and inventory management, forecasting and supply planning, and the capacity of supply chain and pharmaceutical management staff across all areas.

Working with the Government of Tanzania, JSI and our robust consortium of partners will focus on strengthening the supply chain and pharmaceutical management workforce, defining and streamlining processes, enhancing governance structures and fostering stakeholder engagement, and ensuring data are visible and used to improve performance. Along with our partners, we will co-create sustainable solutions that meet the needs of supply chain staff, health providers, patients, and clients.
