VOC Port has reported a 65.77% year on year increase in limestone handling moving 5,87,288 tonnes up to July in FY 2025-26, compared to 3,54,274 tonnes during the same period last year. Limestone, a vital input for the construction and manufacturing industries is experiencing strong regional demand with the surge attributed to several key operational improvements at the port. VOC Port credited the growth to enhance cargo-handling infrastructure, improved operational efficiency, faster vessel turnaround times, better last mile connectivity for bulk cargo.
Industry analyst highlights this performance as a reflection of VOC Port’s growing strategic importance in India’s raw material supply chain. The port plays a critical role in feeding materials to cement plants, steel manufacturers and other industrial sectors. With sustained demand projected from core industries, port authorities are optimistic about maintaining the growth trajectory in the months ahead.
