Transportation Insight (TI) and Nolan Transportation Group (NTG) have embarked on a significant data management overhaul, selecting Cleo as their partner to streamline their fragmented IT systems into a unified data ecosystem. This move is part of TI & NTG’s broader strategy to improve visibility, enhance customer integration, and manage data more efficiently across their operations.
Senior Vice President of IT Loren Kaplan highlighted that TI & NTG, which recently expanded through multiple acquisitions, faced challenges with disparate technology systems. The company sought a single, integrated platform capable of handling both Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to meet the diverse needs of its customers.
Kaplan, formerly a director of information systems at UPS, emphasized the difficulty of managing multiple systems and the high costs associated with internal data integration. After an extensive search, TI & NTG chose Cleo for its specialized capabilities in the logistics and brokerage sector, and its ability to provide a hybrid solution blending EDI and API technologies.
Cleo’s platform has facilitated a seamless integration process, making it easier for TI & NTG to onboard customers and manage data transfers. The implementation has allowed TI & NTG to clear a backlog of 450 trading partners and handle integrations more swiftly and cost-effectively. By transitioning to electronic invoicing and data transfers, TI & NTG has significantly reduced operational costs and improved data accuracy.
Cleo’s expertise and real-time industry insights have been instrumental in simplifying TI & NTG’s integration processes. The collaboration has also enhanced communication with carriers, improving rate quote efficiency and overall operational performance.
Kaplan noted that the transition to Cleo’s platform has not only streamlined operations but also provided substantial cost savings and operational benefits, allowing TI & NTG to focus on its core value areas.
