Titagarh Rail Systems, a leading rolling stock manufacturer, is set to diversify into large-scale shipbuilding with plans to establish a greenfield shipyard. The facility will be designed to construct both naval and commercial vessels, marking a strategic expansion as the company eyes shipbuilding as a key growth avenue.
The location for the new shipyard is expected to be finalized in the coming months, with the company actively exploring options across several coastal states, including West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.

The proposed greenfield project signals a significant step forward in ramping up capabilities and tapping into growing demand in India’s maritime and defence sectors.
