Saudia Cargo has announced the appointment of Eng Loay Mashabi as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, effective January 1, 2025. This leadership change marks a pivotal step in the company’s plans for strategic expansion and growth within the global air cargo sector.

Eng Mashabi will succeed Teddy Zebitz, who has led Saudia Cargo through a period of significant achievements, driving innovation and solidifying its position as a leader in air freight. Under Zebitz’s stewardship, Saudia Cargo has reached impressive milestones, and he will remain with the company in a new role as a member of its Board of Directors.

Acknowledging Legacy and Leadership

Abdulkareem Abualnasr, Chairman of the Saudia Cargo Board, expressed deep gratitude for Zebitz’s leadership. "Teddy's vision and dedication have been instrumental in advancing Saudia Cargo, navigating challenges, and ensuring our ongoing success," Abualnasr said. "We are thankful for his valuable contributions and look forward to his continued involvement as a Board member."

A Vision for the Future

Eng Loay Mashabi brings extensive experience in logistics and transportation to his new role, having served as a member of the Saudia Cargo Board since August 2021 and as Managing Director since October 2023. Prior to joining Saudia Cargo, Mashabi held key positions in the Saudi government, including Deputy Minister for Logistics Services at the Ministry of Transportation and Logistics and Deputy Governor for Planning and Development at the General Authority of Customs. His leadership at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), particularly in driving the development of

Al Soudah, highlights his ability to spearhead large-scale, transformative logistics projects.

Under Mashabi’s leadership, Saudia Cargo is poised to accelerate its growth and expand its global network, with a focus on enhancing logistics capabilities that align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. The company remains committed to supporting key industries, ensuring the efficient transport of essential goods, and providing customer-centric logistics solutions that contribute to the Kingdom’s broader economic diversification and growth.

Looking Ahead

As Saudia Cargo continues its strategic expansion, the company is focused on positioning itself at the forefront of the global air cargo industry, capitalizing on emerging opportunities and advancing Saudi Arabia’s position as a global logistics hub.
