Samsung, which has been running its manufacturing facility in India since 1996, is collaborating closely with component partners in the local market to strengthen the supply chain and infrastructure as the country ramps up its efforts to produce electronics locally. T.M. Roh, President and Head of MX Business at Samsung Electronics, made this announcement on Wednesday.

According to Roh, "collaborations and efforts will continue into the future," and the South Korean company considers the Indian market to be very vital.
India is one of the markets where foldables are growing rapidly, with the Galaxy foldable at its centre, he said.

"The R&D centres in Noida and Bengaluru have grown to be among the largest in the Samsung and MX businesses. They are working on flagship goods as well as contributing to the advancement of Galaxy Al technology," he stated.

Roh said he expected market demand to increase this year, and "we have high expectations about Indian customers and consumers adopting the new foldable Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 with the incorporation of Galaxy Al that are optimised for foldables.".

In order to "bring more perfection to the experience and usability of foldables, optimising foldables to the maximum," the business has "continuously worked on our own and with our partners" since launching its first foldable in 2019.

The company claims to have made Galaxy Al more accessible and that by year's end, 200 million devices would have Galaxy Al installed.

Samsung's flagship phones are doing very well in India, where there is double-digit growth in the premium market.

Record numbers of preorders for the company's sixth-generation foldable smartphones have been placed this year. The new Z series proved to be the most popular in India, as pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 surged by 40% on the first day when compared to the previous generation of foldables.
