In his latest episode of 'Mann Ki Baat,' Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the growing significance of the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign, encouraging citizens to support local businesses during the festive season. He underscored India's advancements in technology and science, notably the inauguration of the Major Atmospheric Cherenkov Experiment (MACE) Observatory in Ladakh.
"Self-reliance has evolved from being a policy to a passion for us," Modi stated. He reflected on how perceptions have changed over the last decade regarding India's capabilities in complex technology, noting that what once seemed unbelievable is now a source of national pride.
Shri Modi specifically mentioned the MACE Observatory in Hanle, Ladakh, at an altitude of 4,300 meters, where temperatures can drop below -30 degrees Celsius. He praised the achievement as a testament to the innovation of Indian scientists and local industry, marking it as a pioneering effort in Asia.
The Prime Minister concluded by reaffirming that the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative is transforming into a mass movement, encouraging everyone to take part in this journey of self-reliance. He also highlighted the contributions of local artisans, such as potters in Jammu and Kashmir, who are crafting eco-friendly earthen lamps for Diwali. Still, it is also showing us the power of self-reliant India," the PM said.
