Dallas firefighters battled a significant pallet fire overnight near Dallas Love Field Airport, which spread to six buildings and a transfer station. The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. at a commercial complex located at 1738 Empire Central Drive.

Initially, multiple 911 callers believed the flames were from grass or trees, but firefighters quickly discovered that numerous pallets were ablaze. High winds contributed to the rapid spread of the fire, with flames and smoke visible from miles away.

The situation escalated to a 3-alarm response within an hour, prompting around 60 to 70 firefighters to respond. The fire continued burning into Tuesday morning before being contained within the area bordered by Empire Central, Oakbrook Boulevard, and Prudential Drive.

At least six commercial buildings and a transfer station sustained damage, but fortunately, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
