Mahendra Pokhriyal has been named as the International Air Cargo Association's (TIACA) new Regional Representative for India. This calculated action is in line with TIACA's mission, as directed by its Board of Directors and members, to uphold a strong regional presence throughout the world.

Pokhriyal's new position will center on enhancing member ties in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, India, and Sri Lanka. His duties encompass establishing connections with both present and potential members, interacting with local organizations, and cooperating with relevant governmental departments. He will also represent and carry out TIACA's viewpoints and policies in the area.

Mahendra Pokhriyal is a great addition to the TIACA team. Mahendra's wide background makes him an ideal fit for the association's and its members' demands. "We're excited to see how he can strengthen our relationship with the Indian community," TIACA Chair Steven Polmans stated.

Pokhriyal has worked in executive roles at Jetair - GSA Gulf Air, Jet Airways, Emirates, and Shree Shakti Air Cargo Pvt. Ltd. for more than 30 years. His knowledge includes ground handling, freight forwarding, business growth, airport cargo operations, and air cargo sales and marketing.

It is a privilege to be a member of TIACA, and I would be delighted to help the organization become even more well-known throughout the Indian subcontinent. My main goal is to strengthen our industry's network in this area and support TIACA's objectives. By working together, we can improve the air freight industry's growth, sustainability, and efficiency in the area. "I'm excited to collaborate with each of you and advance our common goal together," Mahendra Pokhriyal remarked.

According to Glyn Hughes, Director General of TIACA, India has seen significant expansion in recent years, with the government aiming to move 10 million tons of cargo as part of a USD 5 trillion economy. We are happy to promote the air cargo industry in the region, and this appointment demonstrates our dedication to that goal.
