A.P. Moller-Maersk, in partnership with Saudi Arabia's General Ports Authority 'Mawani,' has unveiled its largest Logistics Park in the Middle East at Jeddah Islamic Port. The inauguration ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials, including Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Transport and Logistics, and Vincent Clerc, CEO of A.P. Moller-Maersk.
The Logistics Park, spanning 225,000 square meters, is set to become a pivotal hub for integrated logistics solutions, offering multi-modal connectivity, temperature-controlled warehousing, customs-bonded setups, and distribution services. This facility is designed to cater to a wide range of industries, including FMCG, automotive, pharmaceuticals, and more.
His Excellency, Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, emphasized the significant role the park will play in supporting economic activity in the Kingdom, enhancing supply chains, and contributing to Saudi Vision 2030.
Vincent Clerc highlighted the park as a testament to Maersk's commitment to global trade in Saudi Arabia, positioning the Kingdom at the crossroads of three continents. The facility also aligns with Maersk's decarbonization goals, with 70% of its electricity sourced from solar panels and other energy-efficient measures.
Unilever, a key partner, praised the collaboration, noting how it will reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, aligning with their sustainability goals.
The Logistics Park also focuses on women's empowerment, with an in-house academy offering training and career development in the logistics sector. Safety is a top priority, with world-class systems and infrastructure in place.
Located at Jeddah Islamic Port, the park benefits from advanced infrastructure, capable of accommodating new generations of giant ships, further enhancing the port's operational efficiency and competitiveness.
