To enhance the transportation of products from India to North America, the MECL Service will introduce a stop in Mundra, India. Concurrently, the service will discontinue calls to Algeciras on its westbound route.
As a result of these changes, transit times from India, Pakistan, and the Middle East to the U.S. East Coast are expected to improve by an average of five days.
The new MECL rotation will be:
Jebel Ali → Mundra → Pipavav → Nhava Sheva → Salalah → Newark → Charleston → Savannah → Houston → Norfolk → Newark → Tangier → Salalah
The first vessel to operate on the new rotation will be the Maersk Atlanta 509W, which is scheduled to arrive in Mundra on February 24, 2025.
