India’s cost of logistics as a percentage of GDP is falling

Global logistics major FedEx Corporation that moves millions of packages every day said supply chains are changing dramatically.
“In the last five years, supply chain has become a boardroom conversation (topic). So, we have evolved our mission to make supply chains smarter for everyone,” Raj Subramaniam, president and chief executive of the American logistics giant, said at the ET NOW Global Business Summit 2025.
The government has launched a slew of schemes to turn India into a global manufacturing hub. To achieve that, it will need strong logistics support. On this, Subramaniam said the cost of logistics as a percentage of India’s gross domestic product is already coming down but there is still a lot more potential.
