ET Edge concluded the 11th edition of the ET Now Supply Chain Management and Logistics Summit on June 28, 2024, in Delhi, in collaboration with Mahindra Logistics, strategic partner Oracle, and co-presenter DTDC Express.
The meeting attracted over 800+ delegates from throughout the country. The event was attended by Bhupathiraju Srinivas Varma, Minister of State for Heavy Industries & Steel, Surendra Ahirwar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and industry leaders such as Rampraveen Swaminathan, MD & CEO of Mahindra Logistics, Abhishek Chakraborty, CEO of DTDC Express, Kanwar Singh, CFO of Oracle India, Peeyush Kaushik, VP - Business Leader & Head of Healthcare Innovation Centre, Philips, and Kami Viswanathan, President of FedEx.
The summit featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, fireside chats, and masterclasses on industry-relevant topics, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss sustainability and transformative technologies shaping the future of supply chain and logistics.
During the summit, an expo showcased supply chain management technologies, providing an opportunity for enterprises to promote their solutions and meet with industry peers and experts.
At the ceremony, Surendra Ahirwar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, emphasized the importance of developing future-ready infrastructure to achieve the aim of becoming a developed nation. To reach a USD 32.8 trillion economy by 2047, initiatives begun in 2021 and 2022 have expedited efforts to improve logistics and supply chain capabilities. The country is making considerable progress in developing a strong digital infrastructure through ongoing efforts. There has been significant progress in enhancing the ease of doing business.
PM Gati Shakti and the National Logistics Policy strive to develop infrastructure through comprehensive planning and integration.
Mahindra Logistics' MD and CEO, Rampraveen Swaminathan, stated that global markets have been impacted by several macro variables during the past year and a half. Despite problems, resilient industries suggest a bright future for supply networks. Innovation is vital for advancing technology, service integration, and sustainability. We see various chances to leverage supply chains' competitive advantages.
In his speech, Amarendu Prakash, Chairman and MD of SAIL, emphasized the importance of supply chain specialists in keeping the industrial world running smoothly. Despite recent setbacks, they have remained resilient and kept the globe running. Logistics and supply chains require collaboration to optimize operations, reflecting an evolving role. India's Gati Shakti program aims to improve supply chain efficiency and identify possibilities in real time.
The event ended with the "ET Now Supply Chain Management and Logistics Awards" and "India's Impactful Supply Chain Leaders Awards." The event recognized supply chain professionals and change-makers who have made significant contributions to the industry's growth across many categories.
