Ameba, a London-based startup, has successfully raised £5.4 million in seed funding aimed at transforming global supply chains through artificial intelligence. The company is co-founded by Cedrik Hoffmann, a former supply chain director and co-founder of the eCommerce platform VALOREO, and Craig Massie, a former engineer at Palantir who developed the firm's data privacy tool.
Ameba’s innovative platform operates on top of existing software to assist companies in managing and optimizing their complex supply chains. It automates data extraction from diverse sources, including emails, WhatsApp, PDFs, and Excel spreadsheets, making it easier for businesses to navigate their supply chain challenges.
The funding round was led by Hedosophia and included participation from existing investors Visionaries Club and Anamcara. The company plans to utilize the capital to expand its reach into new markets.
“Brands today face immense pressure to adapt to rapid consumer trends while ensuring fast, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chains,” stated CEO Hoffmann. “Many prominent fashion brands still rely on Excel for supply chain management and use email or WhatsApp for supplier communication. We aim to transform their operations while aligning with their current practices.”
Craig Massie added, “Brands are often caught in a reactive cycle, managing vast inventories and addressing immediate issues without evaluating their supply chains holistically. Ameba aims to change this by providing proactive solutions that stem from a deep understanding of market challenges and the technology needed to address them.”
