Global e-commerce giant Amazon announced on Thursday that it will invest over β‚Ή2,000 crore in India in 2025, with a strong focus on enhancing its logistics and supply chain management capabilities across the country.

This major investment will support the expansion and modernization of Amazon's infrastructure, boost employee safety and wellness initiatives, and accelerate the development of logistics planning software and other advanced technologies powering its fulfillment network.

The new capital infusion reinforces Amazon’s vision of building India’s “safest, fastest, and most reliable” logistics chain management system. According to the company, its infrastructure now enables deliveries to every serviceable postal code in India, reflecting years of strategic investment and best logistics strategies for businesses.

“For over a decade now in India, we have been focused on building the best-in-class logistics infrastructure designed to deliver with safety, speed, scale, and reliability for our customers across the country,” said Abhinav Singh, Vice President of Operations for Amazon India and Australia.

He added that these latest investments will enhance Amazon’s real-time logistics planning, expand logistics and distribution operations, and upgrade logistics services across its fulfilment, sortation, and delivery centres.

India remains a critical growth market for Amazon, which continues to compete with industry leaders such as Walmart-owned Flipkart, Reliance’s Jio-Mart, and the Tata Group. With increasing consumer expectations and rapid e-commerce growth, efficient demand forecasting in logistics and robust logistics packaging systems are becoming essential for staying ahead in the market.

Amazon's planned investments reflect its long-term commitment to India's rapidly evolving logistics and supply chain trends, and position the company to drive innovation, scale operations, and deliver superior customer experience in the years ahead.
