Allcargo Gati, a leading player in the logistics sector, is gearing up for the festive season by launching last-mile delivery operations for major e-commerce giants across multiple locations in Maharashtra and West Bengal. In anticipation of a significant surge in shipments during the festive period, the company plans to hire 3,000 new employees in various operational roles and is collaborating with multinational brands and key e-commerce players to enhance its last-mile delivery solutions.
The company is bolstering its supply chain management capabilities by investing in advanced technologies, expanding its workforce, and increasing its operational capacity at sortation and delivery centers. This strategic expansion includes launching last-mile delivery services in Maharashtra and West Bengal, where Allcargo Gati is also operating 15 mother hub sorting centers optimized to handle higher volumes during the festive season.
To manage the expected spike in demand, Allcargo Gati has partnered with six additional manpower supply services, preparing to meet the increased order processing and delivery needs. The company initially plans to hire over 3,000 employees in various operational roles, with hiring efforts intensifying as demand grows.
Sandeep Kulkarni, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Allcargo Gati, stated, "We anticipate that this year’s festive season will see unprecedented demand driven by positive consumer sentiment. To meet this surge, we have enhanced our operational capabilities and will continue to expand our order fulfillment, processing, and delivery network across the country. We have also deployed cutting-edge technologies to build operational resilience, ensuring that we can effectively serve more e-commerce and online marketplace players."
Allcargo Gati's infrastructure includes a 1.48 lakh sqft tech-enabled surface transshipment center and distribution warehouse (STCDW) in Bhiwandi, near Mumbai, a 1.5 lakh sqft STC in Farukh Nagar, and additional STCs in Indore, Nagpur, Guwahati, and Bengaluru, ranging from 39,140 sqft to 1.46 lakh sqft. These facilities provide extensive reach and support to customers during the festive season.
Gati Air, the air freight division of Gati Express and Supply Chain (GESCPL), a subsidiary of Allcargo Gati, leverages strategic partnerships with leading airlines to offer seamless deliveries and customized logistics solutions. With direct delivery services to over 5,400 pin codes and access to 19,800 pin codes across 735 districts out of 739 in India, Allcargo Gati ensures superior traceability and connectivity, enabling businesses to scale up efficiently during the festive season.
