DFCCIL recorded its highest-ever interchange performance on 11 January 2026, marking a significant operational milestone for India’s Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network.

The DFC network, which includes the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor (EDFC) and Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), handled a total of 892+2 trains, surpassing the previous benchmark of 865+4 trains achieved on 04 January 2026.

The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor posted a particularly strong performance, managing 392+2 trains and exceeding its earlier record of 380 trains set on 03 January 2026.

This milestone reflects more than operational efficiency and points to the growing strength of India’s freight logistics ecosystem. Improved interchange performance delivers multiple benefits:

Faster movement of goods across industrial, agricultural, and EXIM supply chains

Increased shift from road to rail, supporting safer, greener, and more cost-efficient logistics

Reduced congestion on Indian Railways’ passenger routes, allowing smoother and more reliable passenger services

The achievement underscores the coordinated efforts of teams across operations, control, maintenance, and partner agencies who work round the clock to ensure uninterrupted freight movement.
