Tara Manufacturing, a leading producer of vinyl swimming pool liners and covers, has achieved a remarkable 75% reduction in downtime, resulting in a $100,000 savings in the first year after implementing Limble's maintenance management services.

Founded in 1984, Tara Manufacturing has seen significant growth over the years. When Marshall Richardson retired and his daughter, Tara, took over the company, it became clear that operational changes were necessary to support continued expansion. In 2020, Carlos Melendez was hired as the company's maintenance supervisor. He quickly recognized the need for a more effective maintenance strategy to minimize costly machine downtime, which could sometimes last up to three weeks and cost the company $1,000 per hour.

Melendez embarked on a four-month search for a machine maintenance provider, ultimately selecting Limble CMMS, a leading provider of computerized maintenance management systems. Melendez cited Limble's exceptional customer service, responsiveness, and ability to address all of his concerns as key factors in the decision.

Limble’s system now enables Melendez to receive real-time updates on the status and functionality of parts, equipment, and assets at both of Tara's facilities. This immediate reporting allows the company to address issues quickly, even if Melendez is occupied with other tasks.

To significantly reduce Tara's downtime, Limble focused on the most critical and costly equipment. By implementing a CMMS system, employees can now swiftly report any equipment issues. Limble CEO Bryan Christiansen highlighted that the real-time reporting capability allows Tara to fix problems within minutes, saving substantial time and money. "If something breaks and it takes four hours to report, you just lost $4,000. With quick reporting, you can solve the issue in one day," Christiansen said.

In addition to addressing immediate downtime concerns, Limble introduced preventative measures such as more frequent oiling, belt changes, and filter replacements. These efforts further reduced equipment malfunctions.

As a result, Tara Manufacturing was able to reduce its downtime rate by 75% and save $10,000 in downtime costs within the first month of using Limble. Over the first year, the company saved more than $100,000.

"Limble was the best bet for our company, and it has saved us so much money and time. For what we’re paying for it, there’s no comparison," Melendez said.
