Fashion retailer New Look has joined forces with the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) to enhance the protection of transport supply chain workers' human and labor rights. This collaboration aims to ensure that workers within New Look's supply chain, particularly those involved in transport and logistics, are treated fairly and with respect.

Sue Fairley, New Look’s Senior Head of ESG, Quality, and Sourcing, emphasized the significance of this partnership: “By formalizing our relationship with ITF, New Look gains an informed and practical partnership that supports our commitment to upholding human rights, identifying vulnerable workers, and eliminating any risk of modern slavery or human trafficking within our operations, including transport and logistics.”

ITF General Secretary, Stephen Cotton, praised the initiative, stating, “Transport workers are essential in getting our clothing from distant production sites to the UK high streets. They are crucial to the global economy and deserve to have their rights protected. We commend New Look for proactively working with trade unions to promote decent work conditions in its supply chain.”

This partnership follows New Look’s collaboration with the traceability platform TrusTrace in November, aimed at improving visibility across its Tier 4 suppliers to support ongoing sustainability efforts. At the time, Fairley expressed enthusiasm about gaining deeper insights into the retailer’s supply chain, which will help identify and address any responsible sourcing and business continuity risks.
