Fujiyama Power Systems Ltd, an Indian rooftop solar solutions provider, has announced the commissioning of its 1 GW solar cell manufacturing facility at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh. The company currently operates 1.6 GW of solar panel manufacturing capacity, with 1.2 GW located at its Dadri campus. Output from the newly commissioned solar cell plant will be fully utilised for in-house requirements.
With the addition of in-house solar cell manufacturing, Fujiyama is focused on strengthening supply-chain security, reducing dependence on imported solar cells and achieving better cost control. This vertical integration enhances the company’s competitive positioning across the solar cell-to-rooftop solar consumer value chain. The facility will manufacture mono PERC domestic content requirement (DCR) solar cells, allowing Fujiyama to effectively cater to demand generated under government subsidy-led rooftop solar programmes.
The solar cell manufacturing plant has been set up with a total investment of ₹300 crore, funded through a mix of internal accruals and debt.
“The commissioning of our solar cell manufacturing facility at Dadri marks an important milestone in Fujiyama’s journey towards deeper manufacturing integration. The project has been completed in a short span of six months, significantly faster than typical industry timelines, and has also been executed efficiently with savings over the originally budgeted cost,” said Pawan Kumar Garg, Chairman and Joint Managing Director.
“Bringing solar cell manufacturing in-house improves visibility and control across the value chain, lowers dependence on imported cells and enhances supply reliability for our solar panel operations. As our business is largely focused on the domestic market with minimal export exposure, this integrated facility also helps shield us from global trade volatility and tariff-related uncertainties,” he added.
