Lufthansa Cargo launches new features for temperature-sensitive freight

In a strategic push to enhance its freight forwarding and supply chain solutions, Germany-based Lufthansa Cargo has introduced four new features targeting the temperature-sensitive logistics sector. These upgrades address the rising global demand for secure and transparent transport of critical items such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, microchips, and other high-value, high-tech goods.The additions include:1. Pharma Control Tower (24/7 Monitoring): Active since late April, this feature provides around-the-clock shipment monitoring at key Cargo hubs-Frankfurt, Lufthansa Munich, and Brussels ensuring real-time visibility and intervention capabilities. 2. Thermo Covers: For “Passive Temp Support” shipments, Lufthansa now offers thermal protection during ramp handling, particularly on routes from Frankfurt to cities like Atlanta, Cairo, Chicago, and Toronto during summer months.
