India’s Supply Chain Remains Resilient Amid West Asia Tensions, Says CAIT

Amid rising geopolitical tensions in West Asia, India’s supply chain ecosystem continues to remain strong, stable, and well-prepared, according to the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT).

Praveen Khandelwal, Secretary General of CAIT and Member of Parliament from Delhi, said the government has already assured that adequate stocks of essential commodities are available across the country, with no immediate concerns over availability or distribution.

He highlighted that proactive monitoring mechanisms and strong coordination between central and state authorities have ensured that supply chains remain uninterrupted even during global uncertainties.

Khandelwal noted that India today is in a much stronger position compared to the past, supported by diversified sourcing, improved logistics infrastructure, advanced digital monitoring systems, and increased domestic production capacities.

He added that the government’s continued focus on self-reliance, along with initiatives in supply chain digitisation and infrastructure development, has significantly enhanced the resilience of trade and commerce.

Khandelwal further stated that India’s economic strength and supply chain capabilities demonstrate its readiness to effectively manage global disruptions while safeguarding the interests of both consumers and businesses.

B C Bhartia, National President of CAIT, said the organisation has advised traders nationwide to maintain smooth and uninterrupted supply of goods, avoid panic-driven actions, and continue normal business operations.

He also urged traders to cooperate with authorities to ensure that consumers do not face any inconvenience.

Both Khandelwal and Bhartia strongly criticised the spread of misinformation regarding shortages of essential commodities, calling such claims baseless and misleading. They emphasised that strict action should be taken against those attempting to create panic in the market.
