The retail and e-commerce sectors also reported a growth of 30%, while job openings in the restaurant and hospitality industries rose by 25%.
Overall, the current festive season has generated a 20% annual increase in employment across hospitality, e-commerce, logistics, and operations, totaling approximately 216,000 job openings. According to the professional networking site Apnaa.co, businesses are focusing on recovery after a period of declining consumer spending, making this festive season especially critical.
Nirmit Parikh, co-founder and CEO of Apnaa.co, noted that employer partners anticipate a 20-25% rise in consumer demand this year. The retail and e-commerce sectors alone have created around 18,000 new jobs, while the hospitality sector has added 14,000 positions for roles such as restaurant managers, front office staff, and administrative positions.
