Achilles Information Limited, a global leader in supply chain sustainability and risk management solutions, has appointed Amitava Baksi as its new Achilles Ambassador for the steel sector. This strategic move is aimed at enhancing the company's influence within the steel industry and promoting sustainable practices across supply chains in India.
Mr. Baksi, with nearly 40 years of experience in the steel industry, will play a key role in driving collaborations and partnerships to advance supply chain resilience and sustainability. His extensive background includes senior executive roles at Tata Steel, where he served as Chief Procurement Officer and Managing Director of JAMIPOL, a joint venture promoted by Tata Steel. Recognized as a thought leader, Mr. Baksi has held leadership positions in various industry associations such as the Institution of Engineers (India) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). His contributions have earned him accolades including the ‘Eminent Engineer’ (2010) and ‘Distinguished Engineer’ (2013) awards from the Institution of Engineers (India).
In his new role, Mr. Baksi will be based in Jamshedpur, the hub of India’s steel industry. As part of a select group of Achilles Ambassadors, he will work to expand the company’s reach and influence across diverse sectors and regions.
