Apple set to expand India supply chain through $1.5bn Foxconn plant

Hon Hai Precision Industry (Foxconn), a key Apple supplier, is investing $1.5 billion in its Indian operations to strengthen electronic supply chain management and diversify iPhone manufacturing beyond China. As per a London Stock Exchange filing, Foxconn’s Singapore-based unit will acquire 12.77 billion shares in Tamil Nadu-based Yuzhan Technology India at ₹10 per share, totaling ₹127.74 billion. Yuzhan manufactures electronic components and assembles iPhones, aligning with Apple’s broader SCM supply chain management strategy to reduce reliance on China. India’s SCM innovations, bolstered by the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, have made it a hub for future supply chain
