Windsor, Jan 23, 2025: The Windsor Port Authority has improved safety on the U.S.-Canada border with cutting-edge surveillance systems. Using Axis Communications' cameras and Accipiter Radar Technologies' solutions, the port now prevents collisions, detects illegal activity, and saves lives on the Detroit River.
Windsor Port is a key passage between Lake Huron and Lake Erie, handling 6,000–9,000 cargo ships and over 10,000 recreational boats annually. The port’s new 360-degree surveillance system provides thermal detection and visual monitoring for safer navigation.
"Axis cameras and Accipiter radar have transformed safety," said Peter Berry, VP of Operations at Windsor Port Authority. "They’ve helped us save lives and stop human smugglers."
Axis cameras and Accipiter radar combine thermal imaging and real-time tracking to monitor vessels, debris, and small crafts. This system ensures safety and quick responses to incidents.
"Advanced cameras and radar improve visibility and security on the Detroit River," said Anthony Incorvati, Transportation Segment Manager at Axis.
The port will add drone monitoring using Accipiter’s 3D slew-to-cue software, further enhancing security.

India’s logistics and warehousing industry stands at a crossroads of unprecedented growth and change. The first fund raised ~₹500 crore, and has already made two profitable exits for investors. The second fund has raised commitments of ₹2,275 crores (including co-investment commitment). The company is now working toward raising a ₹4000 crore fund to double its portfolio from 16 million sf to ~32 million sf by 2028.
The reason for Welspun One’s success is rooted in its simplified leasing solutions. The company’s unique approach involves offering customized leasing options that cater to diverse business requirements ensuring faster client onboarding and greater retention rates. As evidence of its success, Welspun One’s Grade A logistics park in Bhiwandi, with GLA of 2.5MM sf was leased and delivered in ~3.5 years from the commencement of the project.
