(The report emphasizes DHL Supply Chain’s dominance, with revenues almost double those of its closest competitor, GXO.)
Ti Insight’s Global Contract Logistics 2024 Report shows that the contract logistics market will return to pre-pandemic demand and growth patterns. According to Ti’s most recent industry statistics, the global contract logistics market grew 3.5% in real terms in 2023, up from 3% in 2022, with a projected growth rate of 4.2% in 2024.
Emerging economies, particularly the Asia Pacific region, are driving this rise, with a 7.5% year-on-year increase expected in 2023. In comparison, North America and Europe expanded by 1.6% and 0.2%, respectively. Ti’s researchers and analysts created the report using data from the GSCi knowledge portal.
According to Paul Chapman, Senior Editor at Ti, “the global contract logistics market remains resilient against economic headwinds, in contrast to other logistics segments.” “We are also seeing continued consolidation in the market as companies seek to secure market positions through acquisition.”
Key findings include the Asia Pacific area dominating growth again in 2024, with a forecast 7.1% increase, while Europe and North America are expected to develop at a slower rate than the global average. According to the report, warehouse expenses have continuously increased but have slowed into Q4 2023, and over 60% of surveyed companies intend to boost supply chain management outsourcing.
DHL Supply Chain is still the global leader in contract logistics, with revenues approximately double those of its closest competitor, GXO. DHL dominates the North American and European markets while ranking third in the Asia Pacific area.
